doodles
Not everyone’s blessed with the ability to flick a brush and produce a massively impressive piece of art. Ironically, even though I had an art teacher for an aunt, I still sucked at drawing – to the point where in school my teacher said I’d forever be stuck at stick-man level. But hey, if Randall Munroe (of XKCD fame) can get away with it – and bag a bajillion views in the bargain…
Amongst my friends, I’ve been known to doodle stylized stick-men a’la Mr Munroe; but it wasn’t until a 3-day-2-night hike that they actually had a chance to…well, “feature somewhat prominently”. Armed with a few sheets of paper, a plain white polo tee, Photoshop’s pen tool and a few hours, I finally came up with a few design patches to paint on a team hiking shirt (good ol’ black acrylic is the way forward, clearly.)
Subsequent feedback/reception meant that every now and again I’ve found some form of excuse to recreate these guys. So far they’ve appeared on a pimped-out version of my school planner, as well as on my old blog. At one point I doodled one on my hiking water bottle; but it faded before I had a chance to preserve it on camera. Shame.
CURRENT PROJECTS: Designing a few of these bad boys for my mum’s online baking project (slash family blog), Bakeroo.

- “Camper’s Joy” T-Shirt: The one that started it all! I didn’t even give it that name; I’ve got my friend to thank.
- Other Appearances: Every year my high school gives a drab-looking homework diary…so my doodles proceeded to hijack it. The year after that, I’d put up a new layout on my old blog featuring them.
